Ability

Ability is a Fan Coil specialist and in the UK is the ‘Number One’ supplier of fan coils in every sense; quantity, turnover, expertise and most importantly, pioneering technology.

Ability introduced the first ever EC powered fan coil in 2002 and ever since has been pushing the boundaries of fan coil design such that today, Ability fan coils remain the most energy efficient and flexible air conditioning solution there is.

Ability does not watch and wait; Ability pioneers and leads the way. Consequently, while Ability started with sights on the UK market alone, interest is now often received from a worldwide clientele.

External sales

The Ability External Sales Team cover the whole of the UK including Southern Ireland and are able to provide 'face to face' technical or commercial assistance whenever it is needed. Over the last year, sales and technical visits have also been made to the United States, Germany, The United Arab Emirates, Switzerland and Hong Kong so if required, the Ability team are always prepared to venture further a field.

Design & Development

Ability’s main design interest currently is the intelligent control of EC fan coils, which inherently makes them substantially more energy efficient. Ability were the first to introduce demand and occupancy dependant EC fan speed control, self commissioning air volumes and self balancing design water flow rates. Once an Ability unit is installed you can close the ceiling because, commissioning from this point on is either automatic or achieved through a wireless connection; you require no VCDs and no water regulating valves!).

Factory

The Ability factory is a 15,000 sq. ft. facility specially configured for fan coil production. Because Ability controls its fan coil design and manufacture from beginning to end, control is tight and costs are kept low. With Ability therefore, you not only get the best products but they are often also the most cost effective.

Product Testing

Ability has its own test laboratory which regularly performs thermal performance, acoustic and control strategy testing for both witnessing clients and on new products in design. It has been proved many times through independent laboratory corroboration that Ability’s equipment and methods are in sympathy with client’s requirements and that the results are accurate. Used correctly, Ability products will do exactly what has been predicted.

Servicing / Refurbishment

Being the leader in new EC fan Coil technology, Ability has also been tasked with upgrading older fan coil projects that used conventional AC motors to full EC functionality.

Ability will replace the fans and motors and, if required, the Fan Coil controller and control strategy. This means a fan coil project from many years ago can give its owner, another 15 plus years of service whilst reducing electrical consumption by up to as much as 80%.
